Bio Statement

Anthony Sheyn is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at the University Of Tennessee Health Science Center with fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology. Dr. Sheyn completed the Dual Admissions program at the University of Cincinnati where he received his Biomedical Engineering degree and medical degree. He completed his Otolaryngology residency training at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Sheyn then completed a one year fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Children''s Medical Center of Dallas at the University Of Texas Southwestern Department Of Otolaryngology.

Clinically, Dr. Sheyn practices all aspects Pediatric Otolaryngology with a focus on pediatric sinus disease, pediatric head and neck cancer, and minimally invasive approaches for tympanoplasty and airway disorders. Dr. Sheyn is based at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Through his affiliation at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Dr. Sheyn has helped established a busy multi-disciplinary team that focuses on the care of pediatric thyroid malignancies. At St. Jude, Dr. Sheyn also sees patients with hematologic disorders and complex sinus disease including skull base tumors and invasive fungal rhinosinusitis. Through his training Dr. Sheyn has been exposed to complex endoscopic approaches to the ear and the airway and performs endoscopic tympanoplasty, as well as endoscopic airway reconstructions. Dr. Sheyn also serves as the Research Coordinator for the Department of Otolaryngology. Dr. Sheyn’s main research interests include airway reconstruction, sinus disease and pediatric head and neck cancer. He has published several articles and book chapters on those topics.

Dr. Sheyn lives in Germanton, Tennessee with his wife, two daughters, and a Shepadoodle. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and cooking. He looks forward to raising his family in Memphis and continuing improving the care of children in the region.
